Learn Dining Etiquette

Due to demand, Social and Business Graces will be conducting a class in proper American-style dining etiquette.
You may have seen the owner, Constance Hoffman, featured various times this summer in the nationwide publication of OK! Magazine or seen her monthly article in The Santa Monica Star Newspaper. She is offering a one hour class to assist you in learning to feel at ease in a social or business dinner function.
Topics covered will include: Napkins placement, correct direction to pass items around the table, proper way to enjoy soup, acceptable cutting techniques and much more.
Date: October 4, 2008
Time: 1-2pm
Location: The Patio, located at Virginia Park in Santa Monica, CA (2200 Virginia Avenue) Plenty of free parking.
The special reduced cost of this one hour class is $60.00 and requires a $25 non-refundable deposit. Mail checks,(made out to Constance Hoffman), to 1911 Mathews Ave, Ste 3, Redondo Beach CA 90278.

The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum and the crew of the Spirit of Dana Point invite the public to sail back in time, and around the Santa Barbara Channel aboard the beautiful revolutionary war era replica tall ship the Spirit of Dana Point. Hoist sail and cruise into a piece of Santa Barbara’s rich maritime history, while enjoying the beauty of the central coast.

SB Maritime Museum Docent Training

Join our team of enthusiastic educators, and share your passion for all things
maritime. As a docent at the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, you will have the
unique opportunity to be both teacher and student. Our September/October docent
training features a variety of esteemed guest speakers and will provide you with a
broad understanding of both maritime history and our museum’s collections. Join us
for the Thursday, September 4th orientation meeting to receive more information.
